The Sogetsu Ikebana curriculum has lots of fun and creative lessons that are adaptable for children. One of my daughters’ favourite lessons is Fruit and Vegetables in an Arrangement. While grocery shopping, we often examine the fruit and vegetables for possible ikebana material. To our delight, last weekend we discovered an unusual cauliflower. Its shape, colour and texture caught our eye.
Once home, my youngest daughter decided to arrange it in a similar coloured vase. She created some curved lines with steel grass left over from classes. To convey a feeling of spring, she added some bright pink tulips.
